At its meeting in Philadelphia on January 17 and 18, the ALI Council reviewed drafts for six projects. Drafts or portions of drafts for six projects received Council approval, subject to the meeting discussion and to the usual prerogative to make nonsubstantive editorial improvements.

Charitable Nonprofit Organizations
Council approved Council Draft No. 4, which includes portions of Chapter 2 on Governance; Chapter 4 on Restrictions on Assets, Pledges, and Solicitation; and portions of Chapter 5 on Government Regulations of Charities.

Compliance, Risk Management, and Enforcement
Council approved the following portions of Council Draft No. 2: Chapter 1 (except the definitions relating to Chapters 4 and 6 listed on pages xvi-xvii of the draft); Chapters 2 and 3; and §§ 5.01-5.08 and 5.10-5.17 of Chapter 5. A revised draft of § 5.09 and the remaining sections in Chapter 5 will be considered at the October 2019 Council meeting, along with Chapters 4 and 6.

Data Privacy
Council approved Council Draft No. 3, which includes § 2 of Chapter 1 on Purpose, Scope, and Definitions; §§ 4-5, 7, 9-12 of Chapter 2 on Data Privacy Principles; and Chapter 3 on Accountability and Enforcement.

International Commercial and Investor–State Arbitration
Council approved Council Draft No. 7. This draft includes sections on Preclusion and Class Arbitration, among others.   

Model Penal Code: Sexual Assault and Related Offenses
Council approved §§ 213.1-213.6 and the definitions in subsection (6)(c), (e), and (g) of § 213.0 of Council Draft No. 8. The Council also discussed other portions of § 213.0; the Reporters will review and revise several definitions in the next draft. There was insufficient time to consider the remainder of the draft.

Policing
Council approved Council Draft No. 3, covering sections on Police Encounters, Eyewitness Identifications, and Police Questioning.

All ALI Council approvals are subject to the discussion at the meeting and the usual editorial prerogative.
